Jay's Speed Limit Birthday 11-28-06!

Jay turned 55 this year. He says it is the first time he has been a speed limit, but I'm not so sure about that.

Jay collects badger things, an interest he developed when he visited England in '78. They love their badgers there, kind of like Americans love teddy bears. Anyhow, last year he was very, very pleased with a badger meter cover box I found for him. This year I also hit big, with a brass paperweight from the Badger Insurance Company 1937.... I cheated and gave him the badger gift early, over the weekend:

Jay looks pretty serious about his new badger present,

but earlier he showed his surprise,

and was choked up,

then settled down to beaming happily...

Jay is pleased, and that makes Cindy happy.

On the eve of his 55th birthday I gave Jay the rest of his gifts: three books written by his Great-Aunt Dorothy Koert.

Jay cautiously approaches his next presents,

but finds he is touched.

A happy camper,

no worse for the wear, despite Cindy's camera skills.

Jay is tickled to see his birthday sweets,

despite the wait for Cindy's camera action.
