Mount Vernon's Riverside Bridge Moves On
April 26, 2005

The bridge over Skagit River in the Riverside area of Mount Vernon was replaced by a new bridge, which took a while to complete. Now that the new bridge is opened they have taken the old bridge apart, bit by bit. They put the huge sections on ground next to the river and now seem to be in the process of demolishing them, most likely for scrap... Another bit of history bites the dust.

    The good bye bridge scene.

See the big metal frames of the old bridge sections?

    Taking the sections apart...

New bridge - old bridge's supports visible in front of it.

    A closer look.

More of taking the pieces apart...

Mary patiently waits for Cindy to get done...
