Wedding Anniversary 2007
A Romantic Getaway

For our third wedding anniversary we decided to head over to Whidbey Island and settle into a romantic cabin in the woods. We found just such a spot in Greenbank, a small community (population 250) which used to boast the largest loganberry farm in the world. Today Greenbank Farm is a nonprofit community organization and the property grows some loganberries, has buildings with art galleries, a cheese shop, a wine shop, a bakery cafe and antique shops, a large barn used for a farmers' market, concerts, and events, and a pond. We visited the farm's shops, buying some loganberry wine, had some loganberry pie and then headed to our little cottage in the woods, the Carriage House, at Guest House Log Cottages. In the evening we had a delicious dinner at Gordon's on Blueberry Hill in Freeland, then headed back to our cozy cottage. We had a wonderful getaway and a special anniversary, with many more to come.
